The Government Shutting Down Dairy Farms Under The Excuse of Global Warming

On the 11th of March, the Australian Liberal Government issued a statement that they will begin “cracking down” on dairy farms starting from the 20th of March in some Australian states. The government believes that more, if not all of dairy farms should be shut down due the amount of CO2 it produces that contributes to the greenhouse effect. 

Once again, something ruined because of Global Warming. 

Lai Arr, a dairy farm owner says that “I am incredibly scared for my livelihood. I don’t know how my family could survive without the farm, especially in this economy.” Anwir the Cow also gives a thought-provoking and emotional statement of grunts and cries of pure pain as she looks onto the green field, her home of 5 years being shut down in just a few weeks.

Due to this action taken by the government, dairy products in markets have increased in price. Now, 1 liter of milk costs an astounding rate of $9.35, and that is without the tax. A disgruntled customer, Karen McCaulkin, says “I am shocked by these prices. My kids would have to eat their cereal with water. How terrible is that! Let’s all pray that the government won’t be shutting water down next.”

Many criticize the action, some say that the government should have focused on finding a more sustainable way to prevent global warming, instead of shutting down farms and putting thousands of people out of jobs, and millions of cows without a home to go to except the butcher.
